Since October 7th, violence against Gaza has left the region in devastation. In the Gaza Strip, ongoing and relentless bombardment has destroyed thousands of homes and displaced over 1.9 million people. Over 61,000 people have been killed and tens of thousands injured, with almost half of those that have been killed being children.

For months, the people of Gaza have experienced catastrophic levels of food insecurity due to the total siege and blockade on Gaza enforced by Israel - refusing entry of vital aid such as food and medical supplies. Since the start of the crisis, our teams, alongside local partners, were able to distribute over £46 million worth of aid and over 71 million hot meals. More recently, following a slight ease in the blockade, Islamic Relief has been able to successfully resume the distribution of hot meals in Gaza.

As a result of the blockade, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in Gaza. More aid needs to urgently be allowed into Gaza, as 1.1 million people in Gaza face starvation. Children have already died from starvation, and most families are now going whole days without eating or drinking water. Islamic Relief are determined to remain a lifeline for Palestinian families by delivering food, water and psychosocial support.
