Turkey, the battleground of many empires. In 1071, the Turks, the Crusaders and the Mongols all wanted to lay claim of it. And within this turbulent scene, emerges a hero, Ertuğrul Gazi, who was simply searching for a land for he and his 400 tent Kayi tribe to call home.

Ertuğrul, made the sun his flag, and the sky his tent when he faced off against his many foes; the Knights Templar, the fierce Mongols, and even Turcoman chieftains. But armed with an immense sense of justice, a steely fortitude, an unshakeable conviction of faith - he and his Alps successfully gave the Kayi tribe a new homeland in Sogut, Turkey.

In doing so, he lay the foundations of an empire that would transform the world. His son, Osman Gazi, would go on to establish the Ottoman Empire. An empire that ruled over three continents for six centuries.

Join us on this epic cycling and trekking adventure across Turkey, as we follow in the footsteps of Ertuğrul. This is perfect for those of you wanting to combine doing a challenge for a great cause, with an experience that is rooted in Islamic history.
