LIVELIHOODS IN PAKISTAN

For people living in poverty without a stable source of income, life can be incredibly challenging. Here at Islamic Relief, our livelihoods project is therefore providing 4,000 people with the means to build a brighter future in a climate-friendly manner.

We’re providing critical livelihood support by enabling farmers to harvest rain; ensuring agriculturalists have the seeds and tool kits they need and providing dairy entrepreneurs with biogas plants, offering a climate-friendly energy source. We’re also building water ponds in high altitude areas and rehabilitating drinking water supply schemes to provide communities with safe sources of water.

What’s more, to support vulnerable women, we’re additionally establishing two vocational training centres for women, enabling them to build a sustainable form of work through embroidery and stitching. We’re also strengthening community organisations, carrying out critical campaigns, meaning that vulnerable individuals and families can build brighter futures, insha’Allah.
